"In fact, there are so many references to Macedonians over the centuries that it becomes all the more perplexing as to why two brief quotations, one from Procopius & the other from John of Ephesus, that document a Slavic invasion Macedonia & Orthodox Turksin the 6th century AD are assumed to be evidence of a thorough Slavic replacement of the indigenous Macedonian population of the time" Michael Seraphinoff, Macedonian Gold, 2002.
Any takers?

Orthodox Turks/Romans were dead in 1829. Thus you cannot be Orthodox Turk by any logic possible.

The question was posed to all.
Parmenion, this isn't Greece. Please do not try to shut people up here just because they have contrasting views to your own.

Your history knowlidge is limmited i see,In 1821 we fought for our freedom against the occuping forces of turkey. We lost thousands, our blood was shed.BUT WE WON!!..if we where extint,we would not fight the mongol turks.Your logic is beyond any logic. Greco Romans prevailed!! And dont you insult me by calling me a slav,or i will be forced to remind you of your origins.

Back to the original question, can anyone find ancient historical quotations, other than the ones mentioned above, on the so called Slav Invasion (displacement) theory?

"Byzantine historian Constantine Porphyrogenitus openly says that the whole of Hellas had been Slavicized - It is likewise a known fact that the Slavonic tribes of the Ezerites and the Milingi were independent in the Peloponnese in the 7th and 8th centuries and did not pay tribute to Byzantium."
"Life of St. Methodius, it is written that "all the citizens of Salonica speak a pure Slavonic."

Distortion of history..is that what you study?? You have no clue what historians say through their articles. You believe only what you choose to believe. The slavs had their asses kicked by the Byzantine Orthodox Turks. It is more possible that they where hellenised. Ask Vasilios II "Voulgaroktonos"...
